Developers and agents

Use the public evidence without scraping the interface.

What to Buy in Japan exposes read-only public content for assistants, retrieval systems, and developer tools. No authentication is required for these resources.

2

Request Markdown

Send Accept: text/markdown to a canonical page URL. The response uses Content-Type: text/markdown; charset=utf-8 and Vary: Accept. HTML remains the default. Unsupported representation requests receive 406 Not Acceptable.

3

Read the contract

The What to Buy in Japan OpenAPI 3.1 specification documents the public read interface, content types, path parameters, and failure responses. The current interface has no write API, authentication scheme, webhook, SDK, or MCP server. Do not infer one from internal telemetry routes.

4

Use evidence safely

Keep the exact product identity, price capture date, FX date, source, availability, and checkout caveats together. Treat missing evidence as unknown. Respect normal caching and crawl rates. A crawler request is diagnostic traffic, not proof that a traveler completed a buying decision.
