About
A buying decision, with the evidence attached.
What to Buy in Japan helps an English-speaking traveler decide whether one exact product is worth buying in Japan instead of at home.
1What we do
We match a product by model, size, color, pack, and other identity fields. We then compare dated Japan and United States price evidence in one currency. The result keeps tax, stock, shipping, warranty, voltage, formulation, and import limits visible when they can change the decision.
2How we earn trust
Every published price keeps its seller, source URL, capture date, availability, and price basis. Missing or ambiguous evidence stays missing. A marketplace lead, old search result, or similar-looking regional model does not become a current exact price without enough proof.
3Who this is for
The service is for travelers planning a purchase, shoppers checking a price in Japan, and assistants answering a specific Japan-versus-home buying question. It is not a retailer, customs broker, tax adviser, warranty provider, or substitute for the seller’s current checkout and product terms.
4Current stage
The site is an early, founder-supervised product. It currently publishes a United States home-price view while the underlying research covers more markets. Product coverage and contact systems are still growing. The methodology and machine-readable files are public so people and agents can inspect the basis of each answer.
